The Berry Companies Launches the Berry Community Promise

Coming together for housing, hunger, and safety in the Mt. Washington Valley

In 2026, The Berry Companies launches a new charitable and volunteerism campaign called the Berry Community Promise—a commitment to focus all of our giving and service around three pillars that matter most to our neighbors: housing, hunger, and safety services.

This initiative is our way of honoring Joe Berry, whose decades of generosity, leadership, and hands-on service helped shape the Mt. Washington Valley into the close-knit community we’re proud to call home. Joe believed that giving back wasn’t just something you do when it’s convenient—it was part of being a good neighbor. The Berry Community Promise carries that spirit forward into a new generation.

Making a Better Valley, Together

Each of the three pillars—housing, hunger, and safety—represents a real need in our community:

  • Housing: Supporting local efforts to expand and improve affordable housing so more people can call the Valley home.
  • Hunger: Partnering with food banks, schools, and community programs to ensure no family goes hungry.
  • Safety Services: Backing the people and organizations who protect us every day.

And in 2026, our Safety Services pillar will include a new, dedicated effort to support local first responders. The Berry Companies will donate a portion of all room revenue from our resorts throughout the year to the Bartlett and North Conway Fire Department Associations. These funds will help purchase essential equipment and strengthen the departments that keep our communities safe.

This initiative comes in response to the 2023 failure of New Hampshire Senate Bill 262, which sought to provide additional state funding for local safety services—a measure we fully supported. When that didn’t pass, we knew we had to step up locally. Our fire and emergency crews are there for all of us—now it’s our turn to be there for them.

More Than a Donation

The Berry Community Promise isn’t just about writing checks—it’s about showing up. In 2026, every Berry Companies employee will receive paid volunteer time to lend their hands and hearts to local causes aligned with our three pillars. We’ll be working side-by-side with the nonprofits, civic groups, and service organizations that make this Valley thrive.

Because when we all pitch in, we build something lasting.

Together, we can make a better Valley—one home, one meal, and one act of care at a time.
