Megan Scheid

General Manager

Eastern Slope Inn

Hey Friends,

We’re onto our second iteration of “Meet the Team” here at the Berry Companies. It’s our pleasure to introduce you to the General Manager of the Eastern Slope Inn, Megan Scheid, who has been with the Inn for over 21 years!

Megan, what do you like most about what you do?

I love meeting a variety of different people, providing information on our resort and our area to our guests, and seeing vacation owners and guests return to the resort year after year with their children (and now) grandchildren.

What’s your typical day look like?

Recently I have been trying to get away from my desk and visit other departments more. It has been eye-opening for me to get out to other departments and see first-hand how their team works throughout the day. I’ve enjoyed talking to the department managers, being able to answer their questions on the spot if possible and providing input on things I observe in their area or from their team.

What’s a common question you get from our guests?

“How long have I been working here, and how is my family?” The vacation ownership concept allows me to see the same people year after year who come back to ESI to use their owner week. I have seen their families evolve, and they have seen mine grow as well.

What originally drew you to the Eastern Slope Inn?

I originally applied and was hired at Attitash Mountain Village Front Desk (our sister resort.)  Being from Bartlett the company name was familiar and it was close to home.

What did you use to daydream about being when you grew up?

My first college major was French, and after traveling Europe post-high school, my dream was to get a job in an embassy or a museum in Europe and continue to travel and experience different cultures before settling down in an old house with lots of land to raise 3 kids, a dog and some horses.

What’s something on your bucket list?

A trip back to Europe and years more travel with loved ones.

Any random facts about you that you’d like to share with us? (Activities/hobbies/stories i. ever had an interesting celebrity encounter?)

I love to read and have a large library of books related to self-improvement, spirituality, meditation, yoga and of course travel.  Along with a gratitude journal where I have for decades noted 5 things I am grateful for every day.

What kind of tv/fandom are you into?

I love shows tied to history, my all-time favorite movie is Pride and Prejudice. I also like musicals Les Miserable and Hamilton are top on that list.

Thanks for your time, Megan. We wish you well here at the Eastern Slope Inn, our guests, vacation owners, and staff are extremely lucky to have you here. If you’re looking for some travel buddies back to Europe, we know where we can find a few!

Cheers
