Honoring a century of hospitality, the Eastern Slope Inn is named Best Hotel in the Mt. Washington Valley.

The Berry Companies are proud to celebrate the Eastern Slope Inn Resort, which has been voted Best Hotel in the Mt. Washington Valley by readers of The Conway Daily Sun. The honor, part of the newspaper’s annual Best of the Mt. Washington Valley reader poll, shines a light on nearly a century of hospitality, community spirit, and enduring excellence in the heart of North Conway.

“This recognition speaks to the heart and dedication of our team,” said Alec Tarberry, President of the Berry Companies. “The Eastern Slope Inn has stood as a symbol of timeless hospitality since 1926, and this award underscores the care, commitment, and pride our staff bring to every guest experience. As we celebrate the Inn’s 100th anniversary this July, I know my father, Joe Berry, would be extraordinarily proud of this achievement and of the team that continues his legacy.”

The Eastern Slope Inn Resort, as it stands today, opened its doors in July 1926, rebuilt after two devastating fires destroyed earlier versions of the landmark hotel. Rising from those challenges, the Inn has remained a cherished centerpiece of North Conway’s village, blending historic character with modern comfort.

Now, as it marks a century of welcoming travelers to the Mount Washington Valley, the Eastern Slope Inn continues to honor its heritage while embracing the future—an enduring example of resilience, stewardship, and the genuine warmth that defines New England hospitality.
